 O'Reilly Super Chevy Show Invades MMP this weekend(May
12, 2008) -- The Super Chevy Show 2008 - "Wide Open" tour brings
high-powered Chevy racing excitement and beautiful classic Chevy Show Cars to
Montgomery Motorsports Park this Friday, Saturday or Sunday (5/16-18).The
O'Reilly Super Chevy Show presented by GM Performance Division boasts one of the
nation's finest Performance & Restoration Midways, Car Corral and Swap Meets at
many of our events.
 The
stars of the weekend racing action at the O'Reilly Super Chevy Show
presented by GM Performance Division is the Aeromotive Nitro Coupe
Challenge, featuring the short wheelbase, "Ground Pounding" Aeromotive Nitro
Coupes, found only at Super Chevy Show. A full eight-car field will quality
on Saturday and race on Sunday, giving fans five opportunities to see these
unique beasts featuring 1/8 mile runs of under four seconds. Highlighting
the field will be brothers Cody and Zach Barklage of Missouri, who finished
1-2 in the world last year in the Aeromotive Nitro Coupe Challenge.

The "King of the Wheelstanders,", Bob Hall, will thrill the crowd with
his Airborne Express Astrovan, as he runs the ¼ mile in under 10 seconds on
his rear wheels - steering with only his brakes. |

Hometown Heroes and other racers from around the Southeast will compete in
the ProCharger Bracket One Brawl, JEGS Bracket 2 Battle and the NitroPlate
DOT Street Fight as well as the popular Junior Dragster class. The Super
Chevy Show Bracket Racing series is open not only to Chevy bodied or powered
cars, but all GM brands. GM brand means you can also race your Saab, Saturn,
Hummer or even your Cadillac!
 The TREMEC
True Street Challenge presented by Mr. Gasket is a unique combination of
contestants taking a 30-mile drive around the River Region and then tackling
the Montgomery Motorsports Park drag strip for back to back passes.
Chevy lovers and anyone who appreciates fine cars will not want to miss the
TREMEC Transmission Car Show series with hundreds of show cars expected to
enter. Show cars, street cars, race cars and about anything else with four
wheels will be up for sale at the Super Chevy Show in the Car Corral, while
the "Swap Meet" will feature an incredible variety of pre-loved parts.
Gates will open at 10am on Friday (5/16) at 10am for racers, car show
participants as well as Car Corral and Swap Meet entrants for set up. A
special Test and Tune for racers will be held Friday from noon - 5pm.
Gates will open at 8am Saturday with the Aeromotive Nitro Coupes, jets and
wheelstander scheduled to blast off at noon and 4:30pm. Racers will be able
to get time trials Saturday along with participating in the TREMEC True
Street Challenge and the TREMEC Bonus Race.Discount coupons for the
O'Reilly Super Chevy Show at MMP are available at area O'Reilly Auto Parts
stores. An adult all-events tickets is $32; tickets for juniors ages 11-15
will be $10 daily or $15 for the weekend. Children 10 and under are
admitted free with a paying adult. |
