Heads Up Series Changes

A special message from George Howard about the TCI/Comp Cams Heads Up Series

(July 3, 2007) -- The TCI COMP CAM SERIES will makes its next stop at MMP on July 14th. We will change our hours for this race due to the extreme temperatures this time of year. Gates will open at 3.00pm we will have Open Time Trials from 4.00pm till 5.30pm and we will start first round Qualifying at 6.00pm with 7.00. We feel that this will make for better competition and better for race fans to enjoy the Series.

We also will be making a purse change in our 530 class. We will base this class on a 16 car field. If we have less than 16 cars the purse will be 100% pay back plus the track will pay $500.00. It is not the norm for us to restructure any of our purses in our Series but in order to keep the class alive we have no choice.

Also we will not have any more races of the TCI/Comp Cams Heads Up Racing Series at our Huntsville track. After all efforts were exhausted with city officials about our noise ordinance we have agreed to move the remaining two Heads-up races on our schedule to MMP. It is with great regret we have to make these changes but we have to so in order to keep Huntsville Dragway and its future in place. We would like to thank everyone who has went to bat for us at Huntsville and with your continued support we hope to be there for many years to come.
