Footbrake winner
Mike Dike |
Drag racing is a generational sport with fathers and mothers helping
their children find joy in the sport. That happened to Hampton, Georgia
racer Mike Dike. The son of former NHRA Division Two champ Mike Dike, Mike
Junior made his mark with a Footbrake win at Montgomery MotorSports Park.
Dike defeated Jemison (AL) racer Bryan Robinson in the finals. Dike's '72
Nova ran a 7.255 on his 7.12 dial at 85.71 miles per hour, but the
important number was the sterling .009 reaction time he turned in.
Robinson's '71 Camaro ran a 6.994 on h is 6.98 dial at 97.77 but couldn't
overcome the starting line disadvantage. The semi-finalists were father
