from Jim Howard
(Sept.
8, 2009) -- I want to thank all the racers who come out this weekend to
Support the Super 7 Season Finale this past weekend.
We had over 280 Entries
over 4 days plus a killer 150 testing on Thursday to make this the biggest
Super 7 Series yet. With the biggest car count yet and over 12 hours of rain
delays in 4 days the racing was the closest I have ever seen. We had over
1000 dead on passes out of a little over 4000 over 5 days plus.
15 one
thousand packages and who knows how many 10 thousand or better we just quit
counting! It was without a doubt the best bracket race ever at MMP or maybe
anywhere who knows.
The weather tried once again to get us at the S7S but
once again the crew at MMP was not going to let that happen. We did 4 10k
races and 1 5k race (5 out of 7 not too bad}. I want to also thank my crew
at the track for putting in over 50hrs each to get this race completed and
also for providing the best race track conditions I have ever seen.
The
track was on absolute kill every minute of everyday all weekend long and
trust me we were there for 21hrs on Sunday to Monday morning (2 races in 1
day plus 5 hrs rain delay) and the numbers were the same day or night. Danny Nelson made 28
passes in 4 days with 26 being dead on! plus he won over 10k for his effort,
Ron Lane was crowned the 2009 S7S Champion for the second year in a row
after finishing only 2rds ahead of Johnny Labbous Jr to make this the
closest finish in Series history. I would also like to congratulate Troy
Williams Jr. for his win in the 32 car shoot-out that earned him a spot in
the Million.
All in all a GREAT race and a big thanks to TJ Pruitt for his help up in
the announcers booth. The Super 7 Series kicks off it.s third season Feb
25-28 2010.
See you at The Track
